In this section you can look at a few example sites from our portfolio that illustrate our breadth of experience and the range of sites we have designed and built. The sites all have the common themes of:
- Elegant simplicity in visual design.
- Clear and easily understood site structure and navigation.
- No gimmicks - everything on a page has a carefully considered purpose.
We always strive to design and build sites to the highest standards which includes making them accessible to as many people as possible.
Examples in Entertainment
Abnormally Funny People
The brief: Abnormally Funny People's needs were very straight forward: they had an existing site but were finding it hard to update. It also had accessiblity weaknesses which, for a troup of disabled comedians, wasn't exactly keeping in the spirit of things. They therefore asked Meerkat to help them make it accessible and easy to update.
Result: Meerkat took the existing design and migrated it to the Drupal content management system. We then spent a couple of hours walking AFP through the new site and how to update it. Within a week they had migrated the old site and it was relaunched.
Ratz Life
The brief: Ratz Life wanted a website to help them promote their already succesful and popular act for weddings and corporate events. Their brief to Meerkat was to design a logo and a stylish site with a black and white theme.
Result: Our design uses black silk and gold to evoke the style, panash and glitz of the Rat Pack, Swing and Jazz era. The site features a page where visitors can listen to song clips streamed to them in an elegant and simple music player written in Flash.
BareBones Theatre
The brief: As a small, touring theatre company, BareBones could not afford to spend valuable time on maintaining their website. They consequently asked Meerkat to design a quality site that would be incredibly easy and quick to maintain by non-technical people.
Result: Meerkat took the existing BareBones logo and designed the site and branding around it. We made the site easy for BareBones to maintain by using of a combination of Dreamweaver templates and PHP scripting.
