Portfolio
In this section you can look at a few example sites from our portfolio that illustrate our breadth of experience and the range of sites we have designed and built. The sites all have the common themes of:
- Elegant simplicity in visual design.
- Clear and easily understood site structure and navigation.
- No gimmicks - everything on a page has a carefully considered purpose.
We always strive to design and build sites to the highest standards which includes making them accessible to as many people as possible.
Examples in Charity / Non-profit
Essex Primary Heads Association
The brief: The Essex Primary Heads Association were reliant upon a web service provider to perform updates on their website, resulting in updates being delayed and performed at considerable cost. They asked Meerkat to redevelop the site in a way that would enable them to maintain the content themselves.
Result: The site was redeveloped using Drupal which gives the EPHA the ability to add/change content very easily after only a couple of hours tuition. We made improvements to the original visual design and site structure to improve consistency and aid navigation. The EHPA now have a vastly improved site and are no longer reliant on a 3rd party to maintain it.
Employers' Forum on Disability
The brief: EFD wanted to radically overhaul their website to improve its appearance, navigation and functionality. A critical aspect was the integration of secure member-only content throughout the site rather than segregated into a members-only area, thus highlighting it and helping to encourage new members to join. In addition the site had to promote EFD's publications and events and encourage sales/bookings. The accessibility of the site was naturally of paramount importance.
Result: We led the EFD through a collaborative exercise to define the information architecture and then worked up the visual design with our associates at Lab7. We built the site entirely in Drupal, including the creation of custom modules to handle the multi-step user registration process, events booking and publication ordering. Overall the project demonstrates our capability to delivery a large scale, functionality rich website for a major client. Phase 2 of the project - including improved e-commerce and on-line payment - is now underway.
Essex Clerks Association
The brief: The Essex Clerks' Association needed a website to help clerks to school governing bodies share information and best practice. A key requirement was the ability to post Word and PDF documents to the site as well as articles and FAQs. The ECA asked Meerkat to design a new logo that improved on the existing one they created from clip-art.
Result: We designed a new logo that reflects the most visible part of a clerk's role, vis recording and organising governing body meetings. From this we spun the site look and feel - simple, clean, professional. The site was developed in Drupal 6, a key aspect being the ability to easily upload documents and have the flexibility to choose one or more pages in the site where they should be listed.
